June 2020 Newsletter

Hello Northland Alumni and Friends.

Summer is officially here ~ our summer events this season have been affected by the COVID-19 virus. We appreciate everyone continuing to be mindful during this gradual transition. Check the "Schedule of Upcoming Events" section for the status of our events as many have been cancelled due to pandemic concerns. Most class reunion dates this year have also been changed ~ we are trying to keep our site updated, but please contact your class contacts for the latest updates.

2020 All Year Reunion is Cancelled

After careful consideration and much discussion, NHSAF has decided that given the current state of the pandemic our best course of action is to cancel this year's All Year Reunion. 

This decision did not come easy, but in the end, we felt it was the most prudent action to take.

We look forward to seeing everyone next year on August 7th 2021.

NHSAF Alumni Golf Outing

The NHSAF Alumni Golf outing date has tentatively been moved back to Saturday, October 24th at Chapel Hill Golf Course. Much like the All Year Reunion, in the interest of caution, we are currently in the process of deciding if it is better to cancel the event rather than proceed.  A final decision will be made by August 1st. 

We thank you for your patience and understanding.

Senior Class of 2020

The Alumni Foundation would like to take the time to thank everyone who helped to make this year's Senior Class graduation as memorable as possible considering the drastic changes due to the Coronavirus. Our association was able to provide each graduate with a Senior Class t-shirt which was included in their Senior Swag Bag. (This photo shows half of the grads when the t-shirts were distributed.)

We wish each and every graduate all the best as they head out to meet their future.

Deyo Scholarship

We are busy tabulating scores from the 7 young men and 8 young women who submitted applications and essays for our Chuck Deyo Scholarships.

Each year the NHSAF presents one male and one female scholar athlete a $1,500 scholarship.

This year's recipients will be announced once scoring and interviewing is complete.

Saturday, August 1st, 2020, 7:00pm - NHSAF All Year Class Reunion at Flannagans (Cancelled)

Friday, August 28, 7:00pm - NHS Football Home opener (Pending School Determinations)

Saturday, October 24th, 2020, 11:00 a.m. - 6th Annual NHSAF Golf Outing at Chapel Hill Golf Course (Tentative)

Northland we will all be true. Hearts unite in song for you. Wave we high the green and gold. Mem'ries last 'tho years will roll. Lives are molded by your frame. Loyalty is not in vain. Echo back the proud reply, we are for you old Northland High.
