Hello Northland Alumni and Friends.

Our second annual Bowl-A-Mania event is only 2 short months away. Join the fun with family, friends and alumni at Sequoia Pro Bowl, Sunday, April 26th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm for only $15 per bowler. Registration will be open from March 25th to April 18th. Sequoia has made adjustments with protocols in place due to the virus pandemic.

The Case of the Traveling Ring.

Social Media can work in mysterious ways. One of our NHSAF board members received a Facebook message just before Thanksgiving 2020 from a total stranger. It was a fluke that the message was even seen as the board member doesn't really use messenger. But this message was seen along with a snapshot of an NHS 1978 class ring that said:

"I'm looking for someone, most likely female, who graduated in 1978 with the initials KLW, I'm in eastern NC and found a class ring."

NHS ALUMNI REUNIONS

See the class reunions taking shape for 2021 on the Upcoming Class Reunions page located on the NHSAF website.

Is there a committee for your class reunion event? Let us know the details! We will post any basic information to help get the word out. Due to the pandemic, many from 2020 were postponed until 2021. (Maybe two consecutive classes might want to party as one like 1985-86 will be doing!)

NHSAF 2021 Deyo Scholarship

We are currently accepting and reviewing NHS student athlete applications for the NHSAF 2021 Deyo Scholarship awards. Scholarship applications are available at the school and are due by the end of the day on April 14th at the guidance office. The award winners will be announced in May.

NHS Flashback...  1971

Remember 1971? Median income was $9,028. A new home cost about $28,300, first class postage was $0.08, a gallon of regular gasoline was 35.9 cents. A dozen eggs ran you $0.53 and a gallon of milk was $1.18.

We here at NHSAF are always looking for "new" members to get on board with us; attend our meetings, offer ideas, and/or help with organizing and setting up events. Please consider joining us at our next monthly meeting.

The meeting will be held virtually on Tuesday, March 9th, 2021 and starts promptly at 6:30pm.
