Flashback to 1977

Were you at Northland in 1977? Forty-five years ago the median household income was $13,572 and the average new home cost $54,200. A gallon of milk was $1.68 and a dozen eggs would run you 82 cents at the local grocery store. The US population was 220,239,425 people and the average life expectancy was 73.3 years. “Star Wars” was the top grossing movie. “Annie Hall” and “Julia” took home most of the top Academy Awards.

The Grammy Awards album of the year was “Rumours” by Fleetwood Mac and the record of the year was “Hotel California” by the Eagles. In sports, The Dallas Cowboys won the Super Bowl, the Portland Trailblazers won the NBA championship, New York Yankees won the World Series and the Montreal Canadians won their second of four straight Stanley Cups.
