There was a lot going on at Northland in 1997 too. The ladies took the lead in Viking sports with with Girls Softball, Track, Swimming, and Tennis all taking City League titles. Not to be left out, Viking Baseball had a three-peat and took the City League championship for the boys. 1997 saw Mr. Bill Gosnell, who was one of the original teachers at the opening of NHS, retire after 31 years at NHS. 1997 also saw the retirement of 2 other long term faculty at NHS Mr. Art Signore and Mr. Steve Kull.
